Martin Bessex

7th November 1961- 28th December 2018

For our precious Daddy who we miss so very much

Martin was known, mainly for his knowledge he built within the working Cocker spaniel world. Apart from this, he easily adapted to new challenges and excelled at anything he put his hand to. Most of what he knew and practised was all self taught. Along with working Cocker spaniels he was an expert in tortoises, which we kept for many years . He collected all sorts over the years such as old land rovers, Bakelite phones and antiques. You may as well have called him Delboy, as Only fools and horses was the only programme he would put onto the telly. When being questioned 'How many times have you watched this dad?' his reply would be  'I've never seen this episode before' and then we would laugh.

As well as doting on his much loved and spoilt Cockers, whom his whole life revolved around, he spent the most part of the last 20 years creating and updating his website daily, he was a bit of a computer whizz!

He was a total family man and loved us all so much, as we did him. He was definitely one of a kind and will be missed by all that knew him. We hope he is looking down on us and is proud of us for recreating his very popular and much loved website!

Dad passed away on Friday 28th December 2018, through cardiac arrest.  He was taken from us way too soon and as a family our hearts are still shattered into a million pieces. May he rest peacefully in big open fields with the lovely family doggies we lost along the way. We will miss you for the rest of eternity, Love you always Dad.

Taken from Dad's original website,  a beautiful song for a beautiful dog, rest in peace you angel who we miss so dearly

My Song for Rob

Andy Williams
May Each Day

May each day in the week be a good day
May the Lord always watch over you
And may all of your hopes turn to wishes
And may all of your wishes come true
May each day in the month be a good day
May you make friends with each one you meet
And may all of your daydreams be mem'ries
And may all of your mem'ries be sweet
The weeks turn to months and the months into years
There'll be sadness and joy, there'll be laughter and tears
But one thing I pray to heaven above
May each of your days be a day full of love
May each day in the year be a good day
May each dawn find you happy and gay
And may all of your days be as lovely
As the one you shared with me today

May each day of your life be a good day
And good night.

Our beautiful Molly sadly passed away a couple of months after our Dad, Martin died, it was a very hard time for all of us, Molly had been with us since the day she was born and was also the daughter of our Rob Roy.

She was a very caring, soft and kind natured girl. Throughout her life she had a fair few litters of her own and her motherly ways shone through every time. Even when our Delilah had a litter, Molly would always be watching over, to see if Dee needed assistance! She was the kind of dog who would suffer in silence just to be able to come and cuddle up next to you, a truly special girl who we miss terribly. Rest in peace our precious angel.

Daddies precious little girl is also now in heaven with Dad and our other angels. Dee was Dad's shadow, she never left his side and was unbelievably loyal to him. She was a beautiful dog and had a calm, quiet and laid back nature. As long as she was with Dad, she was her happiest! She passed away 5 months to the date of Dad's death-she did not recover, from what should have been, a routine spay. We believe she couldn't bare to be without Dad and needed to be by his side again. We still cannot come to terms with losing her! Rest in perfect peace with your favourite person Baby Dee.
